I'm off to Erie for the weekend for R's Halloween Party. Next week I'm looking forward to sharing photos of my downstairs powder room remodel. For now, here's a sneak peek. Happy Halloween everyone!

Baby Shower Invites

Over the next two weeks, my brain is going to be buzzing with all things baby boy. Not for my own sake (thank goodness) but for my sister-in-law. She is currently expecting her first child, Anthony, who is due to grace us with his presence in early January. Two months ago, I began researching a fun design for her shower invitations that coordinated with the colors she and her husband have chosen for their new nursery: black, white and blue. Below is the design that I came up with which is printed on 100# white linen paper. Each invitation was hand trimmed with rounded corners and backed with coordinating scrapbook paper. I chose white linen envelopes which were custom printed, and the invitation suite was finished off with a matching envelope wrapper. The illustration on the invite was hand done by me, and as an extra layer of personalization, I used the mommy-to-be's profile to create the silhouette of the woman. I had a great time designing these, and I'm having an even better time designing two showers that coordinate with this theme.

B is for Baby and Boy and Bundles of Joy :)

There are no days in life so memorable as those which vibrated to some stroke of the imagination.

Here We Go

This past weekend I had the opportunity to attend my first Pittsburgh Steelers game of the 2011-2012 season. As a lifelong Pittsburgher, I know that any time that you have the opportunity to obtain tickets to a game, you take it. Partially because they are super fun to go to, and partially because the season ticket waiting list is more than thirty years long. This particular opportunity included tickets that were not only free, but six rows back on the 20 yard line. WIN!  To make the football-filled day even better, my fantasy football team beat my husband's. (DOUBLE WIN!)  Here are a few of my more favorite snapshots from this memorable experience. Go Steelers!

Have you had the opportunity to attend a professional sporting event this season? Do you prefer to watch football in person or do you prefer to be posted up on your couch cheering on your favorite team at home?

Fans and football,

Birthday Visual Wishlist

Pinterest has me obsessed with visual lists these days. If I could make my perfect b-day pinboard, this would be it. :)

yummy scents, drop earrings and warm fall layering pieces = yes.

finish each day and be done with it. you have done
what you could.
some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them
as soon as you can. tomorrow is a new day.
you shall begin it
and with too high a spirit to be encumbered
with your old nonsense.
